All About the Saints
November 2020 Monthly Meeting; Presented by Gina & James
Every year on the first of November, the Church celebrates All Saints’ Day in honor of all the saints, known and unknown. With that in mind, we thought our November monthly meeting would be a perfect time to explore all about the saints, especially the little known saints!
Rites of the Catholic Church
August 2020 Monthly Meeting; Presented by Carol
*There are extra points in the Notes section at the bottom of each slide and hyperlinks to additional resources in each slide. The Eastern rite churches have even more history and theology details than included in the slides. If anyone googles, for example, "Byzantine Catholic Church in USA" or "Chaldean Catholic Church in USA", they can find the parish or diocesan website and explore in depth. We suggest watching clips of each rite's Mass on Youtube, if you have time. Hearing the Mass in the native language of each rite reinforces the beauty of the liturgy and the sacred feeling of each rite. Especially for the rites that use Aramaic, Jesus' native tongue, hearing the consecration of the Eucharist exactly as He would have said it is so powerful!
