Not sure what the "Latin Mass" is? No worries, most people don't!
Also known as the Tridentine Mass, the Latin Mass is the form of Mass that Pope Benedict XVI restored in the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church in 2007. It is known as the "Extraordinary Form" of the Mass, whereas the Mass that most of us are familiar with is the "Ordinary Form" of the Mass, or the Novus Ordo—short for Novus Ordo Missae, the "New Order of the Mass."
These articles will help you to understand what this beautiful, rich, and mysterious form of the Mass looks like, but there is only so much an article can explain. To fully understand, you need to experience the Mass that formed countless saints over the centuries!
