Spiritual Book Meeting

  • TBD Most likely Norwood (map)

“Only God knows the good that can come about by reading one good Catholic book.” - St. John Bosco

Spiritual reading helps us to focus on God and living a life of faith. The not-so-Christian culture that most of us are exposed to on a daily basis bombards us with ideas, opinions, and ideologies that often detract us from our destiny of sainthood.

For the entire month of October, join other young adults for weekly meetings to discuss “Discernment: Reading the Signs of Daily Life,” written by the world-renowned spiritual guide and counselor, Henri Nouwen.

Meeting and discussing with a group on a regular basis helps to hold you accountable to actually start and finish the book. (We all have those books that we start, that then end up on our book shelves for months after…)

You can purchase the book on Amazon for $2 (used) - $11 (new).

Here is a description of the highly acclaimed book.

Discernment: Reading the Signs of Daily Life” features the wisdom that spiritual leader and counselor Henri J. M. Nouwen brought to the essential question asked by every Christian and seeker: What should I do with my life?

Nouwen emphasizes listening to the Word of God—in our hearts, in the Bible, in the community of faith, and in the voice of the poor as a way to discern God’s plan.
